Winter storm cancellations

I have decided to close the clinic when there is a severe storm on the horizon for several reasons.  One, it is a bad idea to invite people into my office when the streets are dangerous to drive.  Second, I would like the snow plows to get into the parking lot and get the lot cleared without my car in the way.  And third, I may have trouble getting out of my own driveway so I don’t want to hold up anyone who is waiting for me to arrive.

Snow storms of only a couple of inches or so will not be cancelled even if Leominster School District cancels.  That is a driving risk I’m willing to take to be able to get folks the acupuncture treatment they need.  I know some folks live really close to my office but I am one large hill and many windy roads away from my office to be always available to be open.

Be safe and I will see you at the clinic really soon.  Tess Bois

Ribbon Cutting Ceremony and Free Day

Ribbon Cutting Ceremony and Free Day
The Mayor of Leominster has kindly consented to come and “cut the ribbon” for our not so new, but new to the Mayor Leominster business.

pic-blog2Date: Friday, December 12, 2014
Time: Ribbon cutting at 3:00 pm, Free Acupuncture Treatments 3:30 pm-5:30 pm
Where: Here at One World Acupuncture, 98 Adams Street, Suite 104, Leominster

It will be nice and simple affair with some holiday snacks, beverages, and some nice music for everyone to enjoy. So come and join us for any part of this celebration. We have so much to celebrate and so much for us to feel grateful about celebrating.

Yes, the new website, new logo and new(er) office in an awesome building are really things to celebrate. But we mostly celebrate our fantastic patients without whom we would not be here. It is from you we learn about how to be in a community, how to appreciate the delicate balance between sickness and health, where to buy great shoes, where to eat, where to learn about all modes of treatments, where to hear funny, sad, or happy stories about each of you. Mostly we have learned how to be humbled by your resilience in the face of pain and we are awed by how much you give to your families, to your friends, and to your community at large in spite of your health limitations.

Our patients volunteer in homeless shelters, food banks, church fundraisers, community orchards, community gardens and fundraises for diseases like cancer, diabetes and dystonia. The work you do and who you are matters to us and we are using this Free Day as a way to thank you for all that you do and all that you give.

Look forward to celebrating with us!

Welcome to Our New Image Here at One World Acupuncture!

Welcome to our new image here at One World Acupuncture! As you can see, we dropped the word “community” In our business name and logo. We still give acupuncture treatments in the same large room; nothing about that has changed. We updated the look and “feel” of our website and logo in more dark and earthy tones. The name got dropped because a manageable logo was difficult to create with 4 words. Since many of you called us “One World Acupuncture” anyway, it just seemed right to allow “mob rule.” Gotta go where the people go sometimes.

Checking the website for any schedule changes due to weather or vacations (we do take them every now and again) is now possible. If we run any treatment specials, we will let everyone know on the website. You can continue to be able to make appointments online. Hopefully accessing our website from smart phones will be much better but I will let you all be my eyes on smart phones. If you smart phone users do not find the website to be easy to navigate, let me know what you find problematic and will try to fix it. In fact, you can lodge your concerns in response to this blog.

Oh and about this blog. We’ve committed to post something relevant, useful or at least entertaining, twice a week. So this is the first blog which answers all the purposes for having a blog; relevancy; usefulness and at least somewhat entertaining. We nailed it; just ask us!

Let us know what you’re thinking about all these changes. We appreciate and continue to rely on your support of One World Acupuncture. What you think is a big deal to us. Your opinions matter to us. You are our peeps. (If my son read this he would say, “Don’t ever use the word peeps again Mama).
